Spectre2
An experimental spectre illustration.. I went at this with no end in mind.. I wanted to see if I could color an image rendered in pencil. Here are the results.

Red Sonja
Been thinking about doing a Red Sonja pic for a while. I get inspired by all of the new Sonja cover that come out thru the Sonja comic from Dynamite Entertainment.
Just a morning sketch. Quick and fun.

Black Canary
First in a series of BOP/Black Canary pieces I'm working on.
My focus was on the rendering, and it shows in the weak composition of spotted black.
Luckily, I plan to color the heck out of this, and hopefully it won't be as confusing.
I've included my initial thumbnail for the concept. I meant to scan the pencils, but got carried away with the inks before thinking about it.

Dr.Strange again
I'm working a little backward. Here is a picture that I really like. Finished it atleast a couple of months ago. When I have some time, I'm going lay some colors on it and see how it comes out.
When I did this, I really wanted to experiment with getting the modeling across mainly with line.

Redeemer
Working with Doug Wagner, of The Ride and Laci fame, on a story concept.
We've currently tagged it as the Redeemer. Well I've put some colors on it. This was a bit of a rush, but I had time to play with it a little( Although, it's far from a polished image).

Kei from Akira
Here is the Kei image I used for my sketchbook cover, and the Studio Revolver backdrop. This image was fully painted- I decided to go old school for this one. You can see the tone wash I did before dropping the color.

Batgirl
Another experimental image. I drew it, inked it, and colored it to see what would happen. I knew that I wanted the final image to be very clean, and "slick", but I didn't know how that would happen. I chose a dominant color of green, to force myself to make some new decisions. I kept the color palette around the cool area, and used red as the complement.. It took a while to figure out what colors worked well, but I learned a lot in the process.
Again, I've included the prelim, bw, and final.

Dr. Strange
Here's ane xperimental piece of Dr. Strange. I drew it and colored it, keeping my process very open. I just kept working on it until it came out in a way that I like. I'm kind of figuring out my process/approach that gives me results that I like.
I've included the prelim, the inked version and the final.

Heroes Con 07
Here's my first color convention sketch. Done for the very cool Billy. Finally found a way to have fun with convention sketches. I might be all color from this point on.
Also peep the Studio Revolver Backdrop, sporting art from Georges Jeanty, John Christopher, Erika Jacobs, Yours Truly, and Dexter Vines.
We also offered prints of the backdrop characters in a complete set.

Heroes Con- Sketches
Heres a sketch I did for the very cool Shannon at the recently past 07 Heroes con. He was gracious enough to send me a scan of it. I'm finding I'm much happier doing color sketches, than just B/W.

Spectre sketch and final
Doing my first post. I'll get to posting some recent doodles soon as I can.
Here is a Spectre that I 'm working on. You'll notice quite a few Spectre's on my list. I wanted to get a series of images based on several characters. You'll notice this as I add more posts to the blog.
I've included the thumbnail and the final inked image. This one bothered me. I didn't like the "feel" of the final inked piece. I didn't feel the inks were smooth enough or something. Anyway, I was going to shelve this image until best friend James, as in Urban Shogun Mase, said he liked it.

Giving it a go
If you're here you probably know a little about me already. Instead of putting all of that blood sweat and tears into a new website, I've decided to "blog it".
For those who are interested I hope to share some of my work on a more regular basis( other than posting on discussion forum, where only I'm only confident of sharing a very small portion of my art)
Here are some of my older images to start of with
The were done with Green Ronin Press for the Mutants and Masterminds Manual and RPG in the past two years.
