DinoGRRRL!

I did this image to go into the Emerald City Con Monsters and Dames artbook.

I had to knock this one out pretty quickly.. I took about 5 hours to draw and paint the base color and another 5 hours to add some highlight and texture, and then I've been noodling at it on the computer for the past 2 days.

Boondock Saints.

Finally back from the holidays.. Actually I did quite a bit of work over the holidays.

But I did this before the festivities began, but didn't have time to post.

This is for something that I will remain "mum" about until further notice.. Hope you can enjoy the art without much background..

Sketch No. 5

Featured on Art Order

Jon Shindehette of Art Order notoriety asked put out a call of DIY promotions from artists.

And I actually had one that I put together some months ago, but never had a chance to reveal it, so I sent some pics and a description of how I put it together to Jon.

So check out today's ArtOrder to see what's up.

Iron Man Sketchcards..

I've been working on some Iron Man sketchcards lately, so here are my first two approvals.

Sketch 2

I drew the figure first.. And decided to make him big Pun or the Notorious P-U-N as he's known in the urban circles.

Okay.. So he's skinny in the legs and arms, and somewhat barrel chested.. I was having fun with proportions.

Sketch 1

I'm thinking about doing the sketch a day drill.. Although I don't see myself drawing a sketch a day.. I think I'll at least reveal a sketch a day..

I tend to sketch a lot when I do so, and I'm sure I'll make quite a few sketches in one sitting..

But lets see how this works.. Just so I can keep updating the blog..

I started sketching and felt like doing something non superhero..

I'm on Archer

Okay.. I'm really back on the wagon.. Two posts in one day.. Actually two posts in 10 minutes..

Well basically.. I'm working on the Archer show that will be on FX next year.. I'm in the later episodes, and working on the show is pretty fun.. I'm learning a lot..

here's a sample.. Check out the FX website to see the official air date.

Back on the Wagon.

Okay.. It's been some time since I posted.. I have no good reasons.. well a few decent reasons. The main one being that I've been swamped with life.. Lots of work, lots of family stuff, and not enough time..

I just haven't had a lot of time to scan and prepare images for the blog...

And honestly I've just been a little lazy about it.. But it's given me sometime to let some cools stuff build up.. So I should have more a than a few images to share on the blog the coming month..

To start here are a few painted sketchcards I've finished recently.

My Super Psycho Sweet Sixteen: Chase Scene Storyboards

If you saw in an earlier post, I did the storyboards for My Super Psycho Sweet Sixteen, an MTV Films production. It's debuted on October 23 on MTV, and it was a blast to see some of my work come alive on the big screen. ( I got to see the premiere on the big screen even though the movie was shown on the MTV channel)

So if you didn't see the movie, this scene begins the best part of the movie.. When the bad guy reveals himself and really starts some hackin' and slashin'. This was shot on a pretty small set, so I storyboarded this scene realizing they would have to retread of many of the same spots.

You'll see that the storyboards deviate from the scene in some places. The director left out some elements in the script( which I followed pretty closely in the storyboards) once shooting started.. I think this was the most difficult scene to plan out.

I was on the set when this was filmed, and it was great experience. Especially seeing my storyboards displayed next to the directors chair..

Okay here are the storyboards followed by the actual scene.. BTW.. The director asked for simpler storyboards with no spotted blacks, because they were easier to see when shooting in darker settings.
